Looking for a healthy and nutritious snack for the kids? Serve them these waffles and see how they disappear! This is an ideal way to incorporate Indian millets in their diet.

Ingredients
  • Well ripened bananas 2-3
  • Curds (plain yogurt) ½ cup
  • Jaggery powder or brown sugar 1tablespoon or to taste
  • Wheat flour ½ cup
  • Ragi/Bajra/Jowar flour ½ cup (a mix of all these or any two of these may be used)
  • Salt ¼ tsp
  • Water to mix
  • Ghee to brush the waffle plates
  • Honey and roasted nuts for garnish.
Recipe Notes

Step 1

Banana Multigrain Waffle Peel and chop the bananas roughly. Add curds and jaggery/brown sugar and blend till smooth. (I use the mill jar of Panasonic Super Mixer Grinder to get the smoothest mixture).

Step 2

Banana Multigrain Waffle Add all the flours and salt. Add water little at a time and mix into a smooth batter of medium pouring consistency.

Step 3

Banana Multigrain Waffle Heat the waffle maker for 1 minute and brush the plates with ghee.

Pour the batter over the waffle plate to about ¼ cm thickness and drizzle a teaspoon of ghee over it. Close the waffle maker and cook till done (2-2 ½ minutes)

To Serve

Banana Multigrain Waffle Transfer to a serving plate. Drizzle with a teaspoon of honey, and scatter some roasted nuts (almonds/cashew nuts) over them. (To roast nuts, I preheat my Panasonic OTG to 170C. place the nuts inside and switch off the OTG. Then leave it there for 10-15 minutes till the nuts are slightly browned)
